About Me

Hi! I’m Jenny, an artist living in Cornwall UK. I’m very lucky to have lived here nearly 20 years with my family and other animals!

I have a degree in Fine Art, studying at Trent Polytechnic, Nottingham many moons ago. I hope/think my portraits reflect that. The painting processes I’ve used over the years, now are used to paint with wool.

This is our much loved puss, Miss Milly. She was found on the rough, tough streets of Truro, heavily pregnant and once her kittens had been rehomed at the local cat’s protection, we were lucky enough to bring her home with us. We said goodbye to her recently aged approximately 15, goodbyes are never easy.

About Wool

Although I read this somewhere, I’m not sure if it’s 100% true but I’m going to believe it because it’s lovely….

Not only can sheep recognize up to 50 other sheep and remember them for 2 years, but they can also recognize human faces. so, if you meet a sheep, be nice- you never know when you’ll bump into them again!!

Based on the list of traditional anniversary gifts by year, the 7th anniversary gift is wool. What’s the meaning behind this?

Well, wool is a comfortable but strong material. it symbolises how you and your partner are there to keep each other warm and protect each other when things get tough. Aaawwwww!

Did you know?……

Wool fibre is biodegradable and is composed of a natural protein called Keratin- similar to the protein found in human hair. this means that when it’s disposed of, wool can decompose in soil in a matter of years.
